Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Drive residents to appointments or community outings when required, ensuring safe transportation practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that meet each resident’s unique needs.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments with a focus on senior or disability care.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques, Alzheimer's support strategies, and behavior management approaches.
- Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes.
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities of any kind.
- Experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and team members.
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties; willingness to undergo background checks as required by the role.
