- Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Product, Solution Engineering team members to understand, define, and document customer requirements. As the voice of delivery during presales, the Solution Architect will advocate for appropriate alternate approaches/contingency planning and designs, define clear scope boundaries, and confirm Customer readiness around scope and requirements. The approach and architected solution will set up proposed work for successful, achievable implementation.
- Hold discussions with prospects, vendors, and third parties to deliver architecture requirements to support archival and/or migration solutions
- Ability to communicate infrastructure recommendations to Customers and/or the HHIT Operations team. Provide additional clarity and collaboration around a proposed solution, as needed.
- Build, maintain, and expand library of standard architecture models, plans, and deliverables
- Assist the Solution Engineering team in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying Vendors to assist with infrastructure solutions (e.g., platforms, frameworks, cloud services), where needed
- Stay informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments
- Understand product data flows and implementation methods, in relation to the architected solution
- Demonstrate and support reasoning for solution architected, in terms of efficiency, scaling, and reliability. Design solutions with a high probability of implementation success, by balancing Customer requirements, HHIT’s operational realities, proactive identification/escalation between Customer requirements and delivery capabilities during the presales cycle, and pivoting to alternative approaches where necessary, while maintaining HHIT’s ability to deliver on time, within budgets, and with high quality.
- Establish and maintain a formal, recurring feedback loop with Data Integration leadership to review recently delivered projects, comparing designed solutions versus actual implementation, understanding gaps/deltas, root cause challenges with solution design implementation, and lessons learned
- Actively solicit feedback from Operations delivery teams on presales solution designs, in regards to quality, completeness of artifacts, accurate of effort estimates, feasibility of design solutions, and gaps in Customer discovery that resulted in rework or scope changes, using this input to refine discovery frameworks, improve solution design practices, and update architectural implementation/design standards
- Clearly communicate the reason for the proposed solution, and any related “good, better, best” options, limitations, considerations, and/or tradeoffs
- Function as a Business Development liaison to the following departments: Development, IT and Operations. Assist with training Business Development team members as it pertains to product offerings and supporting infrastructure requirements.
- Assist with Business Development team member onboarding as it pertains to functions of the Solution Engineering team.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Solution Engineering team members
- Participate in project Kickoff meetings with Data Integration teams, as needed, to clarify design decisions, answer solution implementation questions, validate infrastructure implementation approaches and confirm alignment between presales solution design and delivery execution plans
- Demonstrate and respond to requests related to the architected solutions’ compliance with guidelines and governance requirements
- Create standard discovery analysis models that help inform and expedite solution design and creation
- Develop and maintain deep operational knowledge of HHIT’s Data Integration capabilities, including data extraction and migration tooling (proprietary and/or third-party), standard operating procedures (SOPs), infrastructure deployment patterns, delivery team skill sets, and historical project performance data across different Customer environments and use cases
- Participate in Customer Technical Planning sessions during project startup to align solution implementation approaches (e.g., data conversion projects requiring on-premises or client-hosted infrastructure) and gather firsthand feedback from Customer technical resources on implementation challenges for proposed solutions
- Engage and assist with architectural collateral required for Request for Proposal/Information inquiries, as it pertains to:
- Infrastructure requirements and collateral, technical implementation milestones, prerequisite activities, and core technical dependencies to ensure smooth solution implementation
- Identification and documentation of Customer readiness requirements within RFP responses, clearly articulating what the Customer must provide and when these items are needed relative to project milestones to prevent delays and set clear expectations during presales discussions
- Travel up to 10-15%
- Complete other job related assignments and special projects as requested

- Functional knowledge of using standard Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook, Work, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio
- A portfolio with a minimum of two (2) previously architected technical solutions is required.
- These should be recent examples, within the last 24-36 months
- These should be differing in size and scope; they may not be two technical visuals for the same solution implementation
- These should be submitted/shared in an Adobe PDF file format, directly from the product used to design them (e.g., they should not be screen captures from a PPT presentation, etc.)
- These may not be example materials whereby AI was utilized to architect them. These must be the applicants’ own original work. Anonymization of artifact names within portfolio examples is acceptable/expected.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of proven experience in technology, solutions engineering, and/or solutions architecture
- Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and effectively influence cross- functional teams
- Demonstrated data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while staying on top of tactical execution
- Demonstrated success in cultivating strong working relationships and guiding cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management
- Demonstrated ability to utilize architectural design and visualization software. Microsoft Visio preferred.
