Job Title: Data Analyst

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary: $70,720 - $81,120/year ($34-$39/hour)

Job Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of the technical and analytical infrastructure supporting Harmony Health Medical Clinic and Family Resource Center’s (Harmony Health) electronic health record (EHR) system. Leverages clinical and operational data to support quality improvement, regulatory compliance, organizational reporting, and accounting functions, including financial reporting and data analysis. Utilizes EHR technology and data analytics to improve operational efficiency, support informed decision-making, and enhance patient health outcomes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Data Analyst Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain Epic reports using tools such as:

o Reporting Workbench

o Radar Dashboards

o Clarity

o Caboodle

o SlicerDicer

o Azara

o Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Crystal Reports

· Create SQL queries and data extracts from Epic databases

· Analyze reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions

· Validate report accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and optimize report performance

· Collaborate with CEO, CFO, Operations, and others as required

· Support operational, financial, quality, and regulatory reporting initiatives

· Document report specifications, workflows, and technical procedures

· Assist with Epic upgrades, testing, and system enhancements

· Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance

· Develop and implement data collection systems

· Conduct assessments, audits, and data analysis related to healthcare quality program performance

· Analyze results and provide formal and informal reports of findings, including recommendations for improvement

· Regularly analyze results and provide formal and informal reports of data and information findings, including recommendations for improvement

· Serve as a resource point for Harmony Health’s programs, managers, and special projects as it relates to data requests, data quality/tracking, and compliance issues

· Conduct assessments, audits, and data analysis related to quality program performance

· Assist with the maintenance and further development of Harmony Health’s outcomes data tracking system, including data collection, manipulation, analysis, and reporting

· Effectively communicate findings and recommendations of analysis, evaluations, and policy developments to supervisor, colleagues, and assist programs with related corrective action as needed

· Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to Harmony Health policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EHR access

· Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and scorecards for operational, clinical, financial, and quality improvement initiatives

· Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure reports and extracts are accurate, complete, and reliable

· Analyze trends, variances, and outcomes to identify opportunities for process improvement and improved patient care

· Support Uniform Data System (UDS) and HEDIS reporting

· Partner with clinical, operations, finance, and quality teams to define reporting needs and interpret results

· Provide training and technical assistance to staff on dashboards, reports, and data interpretation

· Other duties as assigned

Skills And Abilities:

· Knowledge of existing and emerging local, state, and national initiatives

· Knowledge of population health

· Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Systems/Practice Management Systems functionality

· Epic experience highly preferred

· Knowledge of PCMH and other FQHC data reporting requirements preferred

· Strong analytical skills are required, including ability to assess complex systems, conceptualize data, and problem-solve effectively

· Ability to perform nuanced interpretations of quality and compliance requirements for implementation purposes

· Sound decision-making skills and excellent professional judgment, including ability to handle sensitive and confidential information on a daily and ongoing basis

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, including technical writing, interpersonal skills, and speaking to groups of employees

· Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks

· Ability to manage time and meet deadlines, including ability to work independently

· Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary documentation

· Ability to plan, coordinate, organize, train, and implement workflows and processes

Required Qualifications, Experience and Characteristics:

· Bachelor’s degree in a health-care related field, public administration or policy, social work, or business preferred

· Minimum of 2 years working with the EHR application (preferably Epic); experience with similar applications may be considered

· Experience with data analysis and interpretation required

· Experience with Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) strongly preferred

· Familiarity with principles and practices of quality management strongly preferred

· High degree of computer literacy required, including ability to learn new software and systems

· Knowledge of health care systems and healthcare compliance strongly preferred

· Knowledge of community health care, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Medicaid and Medicare, and HRSA strongly preferred

· Working knowledge of Azara preferred

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Environmental/Working Conditions:

Generally, the working conditions are good with little or no exposure to extremes in health, safety hazards, and/or hazardous materials. This person must have the ability to travel as required to work with staff at other locations
