Position Title: Medical Assistant – Lab & X-Ray Technician (In Training)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team, primarily supporting laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will also be required to obtain their Limited Scope X-Ray Technician Certification within one year of hire. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow clinical skills in both laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory specimen collection, processing, and documentation following established protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and patient care as needed.
- Conduct basic administrative tasks, including charting, scheduling, and patient education.
- Perform limited X-ray imaging once certified, in accordance with physician orders and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a high standard of patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or laboratory setting is a plus.
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Commitment to obtain Limited Scope X-Ray Certification within 12 months of hire (support for certification may be provided).
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with laboratory specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
