Harmony is hiring a Continuous Improvement Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in process optimization and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with various departments and engage in hands-on projects and develop strategies that will enhance our workflows. What You Will Do

• Partner with leaders and teams across departments to identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve the systems that keep Harmony Castings striving for excellence.
• Evaluate current processes and update documentation to adhere to continuous improvement methodologies with a focus on quality and consistency (LEAN/6 Sigma).
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement innovative solutions.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for improvement initiatives.
• Document processes and create visual aids that help illustrate workflow enhancements.
• Conduct research on industry best practices and benchmarking data.
• Create data visualizations to identify new opportunities for automation.
• Communicate directly with machine operators to collect data and to roll out the new procedures you create.
• Help create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new or revised processes.
• Use AI tools and automation platforms to streamline repetitive tasks.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  
  

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field.
• Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
• Interest in process improvement, data analysis, and operational efficiency.
• Excellent people skills that include effective communication, teamwork, and active listening.
• Work independently by achieving goals with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis.
• Ability to multitask and demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Results driven -- ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Familiar with process mapping, workflow analysis, or lean manufacturing concepts.
