We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Live-In Companion Caregiver to provide dedicated, one-on-one, non-medical support to a senior in Omaha. The ideal candidate will enhance the client’s quality of life by providing companionship, ensuring safety, and managing daily household tasks. This position allows the client to remain independent in their own home rather than moving to a facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Companionship: Engage in friendly conversation, share hobbies, read, play games, and provide emotional support to prevent isolation.
- Household Management: Perform light housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, laundry, keeping living areas neat and safe).
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals based on dietary needs, and maintain a well-stocked pantry.
- Safety Monitoring: Provide a watchful, steady presence to prevent falls, monitor safety, and alert family members to any changes in physical or mental well-being.
- Routine Assistance: Assist with wake-up and bedtime routines, and encourage daily movement or exercise.
Required Qualifications
- Previous caregiving or companion experience (preferred).
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to work with the elderly.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
