Position Summary:
The Weekend RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of nursing care during weekend shifts, ensuring quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and support of nursing staff. The RN Supervisor serves as a clinical leader and resource for nursing personnel, residents, families, physicians, and other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned weekend shifts.
Ensure residents receive quality care in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state and federal regulations.
Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes in condition as needed.
Provide clinical guidance and leadership to licensed nurses and nursing assistants.
Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and resident assessments.
Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences.
Ensure proper documentation is completed accurately and timely.
Communicate with physicians, residents, family members, and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident care needs.
Participate in staffing coordination and make assignments as needed.
Monitor infection control practices and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Conduct rounds throughout the facility to ensure quality care standards are maintained.
Assist with medication administration and direct resident care when necessary.
Serve as the facility's nursing leadership representative during weekend hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to make sound clinical decisions in emergency situations.
Current CPR certification required.
