Community Liaison Job Description
Harmony At Home is seeking a Community Liaison to provide leadership, coordination, and supervision of all aspects of the Community relations and outreach in Monterey County to ensure high quality, effective outreach to all Community organizations, partners, students, staff and faculty of schools, school districts. The Community Liaison will support the work community outreach, research and relationship building to strengthen our relationships with community partners and school partners. Community Liaison will report directly to the Director of Operations.
The job duties will include:
- Relationship Building & Team Player:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to ensure the organization is responsive to community needs.
- Facilitate positive partner relationship between the schools, students, families, Harmony At Home, and other partner agencies
- Work on strategic outreach with Director of Operations to coordinate different strategies to outreach to districts we are currently not serving
- Be present at the Salinas office daily unless communicated and coordinated with the Director of Operations to adjust for after hours and weekend events
- Actively participate in organizing, preparation and set up of Harmony At Home’s annual luncheon, fundraisers, staff appreciation events, staff gatherings, and core staff development training.
- Actively participate and prepare for the annual staff orientation including support with logistics, set up, take down, and meals. Program specific presentations and workshops are to also be developed and delivered during orientation.
- Take part in maintaining clean and well-stocked office spaces in both Harmony At Home offices
- Actively monitor and implement office procedures and expectations
- Community Engagement:
- Develop and implement community outreach programs, workshops, and initiatives to promote participation and gather feedback.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Attend all local events or coordinate coverage for impactful and important local tabling opportunities to have a presence in the community
- Research decision makers of school districts that we are currently not serving
- Assist in developing connections to new school district partners by way of development and distribution of resource materials, marketing, use of social media
- Participate in School and Public presentations to educate all walks of life on Harmony At Home and the programs we offer
- Be available 40 hours a week which will vary on the weekdays and weekends
- Join local collaborative virtual meetings to connect with local partner organizations and maintain a positive impactful presence
- Available to attend events all over Monterey County and as far south as San Antonio
- Provide presentations on the goals, core principles, benefits of, and opportunities partnering with Harmony At Home
- Successfully incorporate the organization’s vision and mission in all outreach to every walk of life
- Become a subject matter expert in all aspects of Harmony At Home to be able to talk about HAH with anyone
- Fund Development:
- Planning and organizing Harmony At Home private events
- Responsible for all the details involved in the planning of a successful event (i.e valet, catering, donor gifts, marketing, invitations, venue, etc.)
- Independently taking initiative in successfully completing tasks for assigned events
- Donor follow-up
- Communication & Social Media:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, providing information about the organization’s activities, policies, and services.
- Attend and participate in Lead team meetings
- Present Future events we are participating in or tabling to the leadership team at bi-wekly Lead Team Meetings
- For work required on the weekend discussion prior with DOO to coordinate schedule and flex time during the week
- Have weekly or Bi-weekly check ins with the Director of Operations on what is going on in the community and strategize on what events to attend/target
- Share updates of weekly activity in Shared google doc reviewed at check in with DOO
- Provide updates and recaps of all events attended within 24/48 hours of attending said event to DOO and CEO (as requested)
- Maintain Bi-weekly communication with HAH’s marketing and media consultants to keep social media presence consistent and overflowing with new content
- Update the monthly partner newsletter with program highlights
- Answer phone calls and route to appropriate person / program
- Manage social media presence
- Clean up Social Media Platforms to ensure clear messaging to the public
- Create a social media plan with DOO to ensure SM is being utilized to maximize visibility
- Feedback, Research & Website:
- Gather and analyze community feedback to inform organizational decisions and strategies, ensuring alignment with community values and goals.
- Assist in the development of creative strategies to outreach to local organizations and potential new donor partners
- Review website and ensure it is up to date with all new and relevant information
- Research and seek out new education opportunities to continue to grow knowledge
- Problem Solving, Intuition, and Initiative:
- Address community concerns and issues with organization internally sharing information shared by the community with the Harmony At Home
- Think intuitively about follow up tasks, other events we should participate in, or tabling opportunities
- Share about different opportunities or ideas on how to grow Harmony At Home presence with the community
Other duties as assigned
Community Liaison hours are broken down as follows:
This is a year-round full time position and the employee is expected to work 40 hours a week which will include weekdays and weekends. (Schedule will vary depending on Community Events or Harmony At Home Events)
HOURS: Schedule will vary from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm based on the needs of the organization. Some weekends.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree Required
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Required Bi-lingual Spanish/English
- Experience with Community Outreach
- Experience with presentations and/or facilitating workshops
- Experience with Social Media
- Technology/Computer Skills
- References required
- Harmony At Home employees are required to attend the Annual Employee Orientation at the start of every school year, as well as any other training assigned by the Director of Operations
COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proficient with computer applications, including: word processing, relational databases, spreadsheets
- Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Voice & Meet
- Extensive knowledge of the Internet and search engines
- Extensive knowledge of social media applications
MAINTAINS SAFE AND HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employee is knowledgeable and complies with all safety and health rules and regulations including, performance of safe work habits
- Employee takes immediate action to correct and/or report all safety hazards to supervisor
- Employee secures hazardous areas to protect safety of others

COMPENSATION:
The Community Liaison position is an hourly position between $26-$30/hr to start.
There will be a 90 day probationary period to train on the job duties and evaluate appropriateness and effectiveness in the position.
