Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team in providing high-quality behavioral health services. The ideal candidate will work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA). This role involves direct patient care, data collection, and supporting patients through assessments and therapeutic interventions. The Behavior Technician plays a vital role in helping clients develop essential skills and improve their quality of life within a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques, primarily ABA, tailored to each client's needs.
- Work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder.
- Collect and record accurate data on client progress and behavior during therapy sessions to inform ongoing treatment plans.
- Assist with patient assessments, intake procedures, and behavioral evaluations under supervision.
- Support patients through therapeutic activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Prepare and organize medical records, progress notes, and other documentation related to patient care.
- Collaborate with supervisors, clinicians, and families to ensure consistency in treatment delivery.
- Participate in training sessions on behavioral health practices, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy methods, especially applied behavior analysis (ABA), is highly desirable.
- Experience working with people with autism or other developmental disabilities is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with medical records management, patient assessment procedures, and HIPAA compliance is advantageous.
- Background in special education or behavioral health fields will be considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams are essential.
