Overview
We are seeking a Stroke & Chest Pain Data Abstractor, also referred to as a Clinical Data and Quality Improvement Abstractor, Chest Pain and Stroke Coordinator, Clinical Data Specialist or Clinical Data Coordinator in our Quality Assurance department. Our Clinical Data Coordinator plays an important role of improving patient care and ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulations. The Clinical Data Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the coordination, integration, and implementation of the organization wide performance improvement activities to ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Review medical records and clinical documentation related to stroke and chest pain patients to extract relevant data points, treatment details, timelines, and outcomes while ensuring data completeness and accuracy
- Support the quality assurance team by compiling and monitoring hospital performance data on stroke and chest pain protocols and tracking compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Assist in analyzing data trends to identify gaps in patient care or documentation and help generate reports for quality improvement initiatives and external reporting
- Ensure data and processes comply with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards while preparing documentation for audits and quality reviews
- Collaborate with clinicians, quality improvement staff, and administrative teams to support patient outcome initiatives and participate in performance improvement projects recommending process enhancements based on data findings

Education, Experience, Training
- Current Registered Nurse License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current BLS upon hire
- Current ACLS upon hire
- Education Requirement: 9 CEUs completed annually for ACS (Acute Coronary Syndrome)
- Five years clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting which includes a minimum of two years of inpatient experience preferred.
- Computer experience in Windows applications (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong working knowledge in data management, data analysis and quality improvement processes are preferred.
