What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant and Toddler Teaching Assistant position at Harleysville Learning Center?
We are searching for a passionate and loving Infant and Toddler Assistant Teacher's to join our team! We are looking for assistants for both infant and toddler age ranges. The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate to foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Candidates will assist in implementing activities that stress physical, social, and emotional growth that allow children to explore and grow.
Responsibilities
- Assist children in small groups or individually to keep them on-task
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and assist them with conflict resoluciton
- Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Assists with diapering, toileting, naptime, and/or mealtimes
- Capable of leading the classroom in the lead teacher's absence
Skills
- 2 years of experience working with children
- Knowledge of child development
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to act as a mediator between children
- Patient, warm, and friendly
- Reliable

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour
