Job Title: Electromechanical Technician

Position Purpose:
The Electromechanical Technician will be responsible for assembling, testing, and refining prototype machines in collaboration with the R&D team. This role will support the development of multiple machine generations leading up to production launch. Additionally, the technician will assist in troubleshooting and modifying prototypes to enhance performance and manufacturability. To uphold Harland’s reputation for high-quality coating and testing machines, this position ensures that prototypes are built to specification, thoroughly tested, and documented to support future iterations and production readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, test, and refine prototype machines in collaboration with the R&D team.
- Develop technical documentation for Harland machines
- Interpret and work from schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documents to build and test equipment
- Document assembly processes, test results, and design feedback to support future improvements
- Identify and suggest enhancements to optimize assembly efficiency, machine performance, and manufacturability
- Communicate project status, technical findings, and challenges to management with clear documentation
- Support troubleshooting, modifications, and enhancements throughout the machine development cycle
- Report the status of all required duties to manager with good documentation practices
- Provide strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Support and/or perform other duties as required
- Adhere to all HMS quality documents and procedures
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years of related Electrical Technician experience, and or, Associates degree (A.A.) / equivalent from a 2-year technical school.
- Experience reading and understanding Mechanical Drawings
- Experience reading and understanding Electrical Schematics
- Experience with basic electronic tools, multi meter, crimpers, etc..
- Knowledge and experience working with ISO 13485 or ISO 9000 environment
- Must have experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment
- Proven communication skills, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Self-starter and independent worker with excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to function in a Team environment
Working Conditions and Health & Safety:

- Employee is required to use appropriate PPE including, but not limited to, nitrile or latex gloves, lab coat, hair bonnet, shoe covers, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shield, or respiratory mask while working in a lab or manufacturing space.

Personnel engaged in manufacturing shall obtain training required by ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR part 820, FDA 21 CFR part 210 & 211, and Harland Medical System’s internal procedures, where deemed appropriate per assigned job functions.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on level surfaces for a prolonged period of time. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist. The employee frequently is required stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Using proper lifting techniques, the employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The employee may work on ladders up to 6 feet above the floor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include corrected 20/20 vision, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position may be exposed to areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
