Harlan Construction is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee safety planning, compliance, and documentation across our construction projects. This role provides leadership and guidance to project teams to ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies, client requirements, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
The Safety Manager will work closely with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and company leadership to maintain a safe work environment, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture where safety is a core value.

Monday – Friday
7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per year (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and client safety requirements
- Conduct routine jobsite inspections to maintain a safe work environment
- Review and approve subcontractor safety plans and compliance documentation
- Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions
- Document safety violations and ensure corrective measures are taken
- Maintain all safety training records and documentation
- Conduct employee safety training and toolbox talks
- Audit subcontractor safety practices on project sites
- Verify tools and equipment meet safety standards
- Respond to employee safety concerns and promote safe work practices
- Coordinate OSHA-required site evaluations and inspections
- Manage communication with regulatory agencies regarding safety matters
- Assist with development of project-specific construction health and safety plans
- Participate in project planning meetings with project managers and construction leadership
- Coordinate hazardous material and waste safety compliance
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills and evaluate response plans
- Monitor and maintain all safety-related documentation and reports
- Manage the safety department budget, including PPE & training expenses
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 Certifications required
- Previous experience in a safety role within commercial or industrial construction environments
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety practices
- Ability to conduct safety training and lead safety initiatives
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
