What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horizontal Directional Drill Locator position at Harger Utility Contractors Inc.?
We are currently seeking an experienced Directional Drill Locator for current and upcoming projects in Centre, Clinton, and Lycoming County. We are looking for someone who has 2 years of locating experience. This is a full-time but temporary job that will restart in Spring 2023 and continue until Fall 2023.
Job Description:
Locating
- Spot and identify utilities after they have been located, and consider potential surprises
- Understand various soil and ground conditions for directional drilling, identify which “Drilling Mix” is required for different situations
- Plan drilling path to avoid damage to existing underground utilities
- Assist with connections, services, etc.
- Locating path of drill shot via locator
Basic Safety
- Perform manual labor functions
- Report all incidents, accidents, safety violations, and maintenance deficiencies
- Know safety procedures, always analyze hazards and implement safety skills
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience
- Must be willing to travel
- The applicant must be safety minded about themselves and others
- Must be able to work efficiently with others
- Must be able to assist in other areas as needed
- Must be willing to show up to work every day on time
- Applicant MUST have clean MVR to be qualified for this job - no exceptions
