Preventative Maintenance Technician - Temporary- 2nd Shift
Fairmont, NC
Harger, a leading manufacturer of lightning protection and grounding components, is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician, temporary, to support our Maintenance Engineering Department. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment, monitoring equipment and ensuring it is running optimally for continued production.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment by reviewing parts and ensure that they are working properly.
- Identify and perform necessary maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Conduct routine servicing of equipment as part of measures to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance activities on the equipment.
- Communicate with management regarding faulty equipment and make recommendations on maintenance techniques for optimal performance.
- Maintain Fairmont facility including plumbing and electrical systems.
- Document completed tasks.
- Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
- Keeping all tools and supplies in their work area put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 3 – 5 years as a maintenance technician within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and controls systems and processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning machinery.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
