About the Role
Strategic Business Development - is responsible for establishing and developing deep, long-term relationships with the world’s most important Biotech/Life Sciences companies, helping develop an AI ecosystem. As Strategic Business Development and part of the sales team, you will be a key team member negotiating strategic contracts as well as identifying new opportunities in the industry. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders including product, and engineering to onboard or optimize relationships, with an emphasis on growth.
You will develop relationships with the decision makers and researchers identifying opportunities for win-win collaboration to grow the AI ecosystem. The role will be starting with a few clients in place already, and a targeted account list. Ready for a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, and requires strong communication, prioritization, organization, and presentation skills.
You must have deep subject matter expertise in cloud computing consumption-based business models and technologies with at least 4 years of business development experience negotiating non-programmatic deals involving cloud compute operations and storage services. Role will be heavy engagement with researchers in biotech and pharma AI development teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and negotiate contracts that drive long-term growth of the business, deliver innovation and value for our customers, and create value for strategic partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, and stakeholders developing the ecosystem.
- Build deep relationships with stakeholders in organizations to align their business objectives for win-win outcomes.
- Develop KPIs to define, measure, and drive success and growth of the ecosystem.
- Work closely with the executive team looking for new opportunities.
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in business development, corporate development, or consulting within the cloud computing industry. (Preferably 2 years in the Biotech/Life Sciences industry)
- Deep subject matter expertise in cloud computing consumption-based business models and technologies.
- Proven track record negotiating highly bespoke commercial arrangements up to C-suite level.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in developing first-principles and data-driven business cases and strategic plans using a variety of tools.
- Strong understanding of GTM and sales motions that drive success.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of distilling complex analyses into clear messaging for executives and stakeholders.
- Ability to drive deal processes autonomously as the deal lead.
- Certifications in the Cloud Computing and/or AI space and along with strong proven technical aptitude.
