Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various flooring techniques and construction skills. This role involves working on-site to install, maintain, sand, and repair hardwood flooring systems while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. The Floor Technician will collaborate with other tradespeople and contribute to the overall success of construction projects. Traveling is also essential to our company. We work throughout the Midwest on Gym floor projects on a seasonal basis and residential flooring throughout the year as well. Specific training to our job duties are done on site and in our training facility. Company pays hotel expenses, travel pay, per diem, and prevailing wage rates on qualifying projects.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of Hardwood flooring.
- Utilize hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively during installation processes.
- Conduct remodeling work related to flooring projects, ensuring quality finishes.
- Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Foreman duties include loading and unloading vehicles and trailers, running projects, time management of jobs and other employees.
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation or related construction fields is preferred but not necessary.
- Familiarity with trim carpentry techniques is a plus.
- Experience with maintenance person tasks related to home improvement projects is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
