The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Millwork Installer to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is driven to take ownership while contributing to team success.
Key Responsibilities
The Millwork Installer is responsible for building and installing custom millwork to the highest industry standards, working from plans and architectural drawings to deliver quality workmanship on time.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and plans
- Pre-planning installation of commercial, institutional, and hospitality millwork and cabinetry
- Installing millwork efficiently and accurately using established trade practices
- Assembling wooden and metal furniture/fixture components and securing them per specifications
- Identifying barriers to project completion and proposing solutions
- Safely operating tools, machinery, and equipment related to the trade
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment with respect for customer property
- Receiving and unloading finished product shipments; lifting and maneuvering millwork/cabinets through obstacles
- Working overtime when required to meet deadlines
- Performing related millwork tasks when not assigned to installations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail/commercial installation and assembly of millwork, cabinetry, trims, beams, panels, and store fixtures
- Strong knowledge of millwork construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment
- Ability to perform on-site modifications and touch-ups
- Ability to work from technical drawings or rough sketches
- Must provide own hand tools and have reliable transportation
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently; positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Reliable and flexible, including availability for evenings/weekends as needed
- Ability to perform repetitive movements and handle heavy cabinetry components
- Physically fit—able to lift up to 50 lbs., work in tight spaces, climb/stand at heights over 5 ft., and perform sustained physical activity
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to jobsite rules
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally outside the Triangle area
- Ability to work independently or follow direction as part of a larger team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate with team members
- High level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in work
- Experience using computers/smartphone apps for project reporting
- Experience in millwork and finish carpentry is an asset
- Previous retail construction or commercial installation experience preferred
- Professional installation experience (laminate, cabinets, Corian, trim, wainscoting, kitchens, bars, moldings, doors/frames/hardware, etc.) in commercial settings
- Ability to obtain or hold a valid Secret security clearance
- Ability to resolve on-site issues efficiently to complete projects
Pay: $35.00 per hour
