Summary:

Responsible for the sourcing and developing the supply chain of specified categories of goods and services. Additionally, the Buyer provides ongoing tactical procurement support for product line changes of non-strategic materials.  

Responsibilities:    

• Purchasing of commodities daily, source, verify pricing, and calculate stock buys
• Generate what to buy for the company
• Problem solves questions of incomplete shipments and warehouse
• Advise inside sales reps of price changes and new price books when they occur
• Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all delivery dates are accurate and satisfy the assigned purchase orders
• Reach out to suppliers on missing orders; request paperwork when parts come in
• Enter urgent air ship orders messaged by salespeople that are not on the buy report
• Enter purchase orders and look for opportunities to increase profit
• Ensure all confirmation of purchase orders are done within two days
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:    

• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and industry standard purchase order software platforms
• Ability to identify, research, assess, and process complex information on sources, items, and services
• Strong negotiating skills and ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities

·       Ability to work well with a team

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Associate degree preferred
• Two years of buyer experience required
