Job Summary:

Hardware Sales is seeking a dedicated Retail Sales Associate to join our team in the Balcony Department. We take pride in offering an extensive range products and need great retail associates to help our customers find what they need. You will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their needs. Your primary responsibilities will include providing expert advice, guiding customers through product selections, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Prior experience of power tools is strongly preferred. The balcony department carries a variety of products ranging from HVAC, chimney, venting, work wear, cleaning supplies, home goods, and much more!

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and ascertain their needs.
  • Provide knowledgeable assistance on a wide range of products including HVAC, chimney and venting, workwear, cleaning supplies, and home goods.
  • Answer customer inquiries, provide product demonstrations, and offer personalized recommendations.
  • Resolve customer issues or concerns promptly and courteously.

• Sales:

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and guide them to appropriate products.
  • Upsell and cross-sell complementary products to maximize sales.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale.

• Product Knowledge:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the products within the Balcony Department.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest product offerings and industry trends.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.

• Merchandising:

  • Ensure that product displays are neat, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Replenish stock and maintain inventory levels.
  • Assist in setting up promotional displays and signage.

• Store Operations:

  • Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
  • Participate in inventory counts and ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other associates and department managers to achieve sales goals.
  • Assist in other areas of the store as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma.
• Previous retail experience, preferably in home improvement or a related field, is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in using inventory systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable with climbing ladders and reaching for products on higher shelves.

This position will require you to be on your feet all day long, as well as lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and bending. You should be able to lift 50 pounds from the ground as well as put heavy objects on shelves above your head. This job will require climbing ladders and going up and down stairs on a daily basis.

This role is regular full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
