VMI Operations Associate (Warehouse Kitting Deliveries)
Location: East Plano, TX (customer site deliveries in the DFW area)
Pay: $18–$22/hour (based on experience)
Employment type: Summer full-time preferred (40 hrs/week) with option to transition part-time during school year; permanent full-time candidates considered
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Delivery availability (required): Standing weekly delivery on a fixed weekday Mon–Thu during business hours (no Fridays)
Typical delivery block: ~10:00am–4:00pm (includes drive time onsite work)
About the role
This role supports a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program with a focus on kit build accuracy and weekly replenishment deliveries. This is detail-critical work in an aerospace environment—following written work instructions and checklists is mandatory.
Primary responsibilities
- VMI kit build: pull parts, bag, label, tape, and package to checklist/spec; put away parts and maintain orderly VMI storage
- Deliveries: stage and load deliveries; deliver to customer site and complete required onsite steps per SOP
- Inventory accuracy: cycle counts; bin/shelf organization; labeling upkeep
- Cross-train: learn receiving/shipping and fill in when needed
Secondary responsibilities
- Document scanning and basic checks
- Add expiration dates to lots/parts where required (per instructions)
- Cert packet prep for VMI kits (per checklist)
- Light warehouse projects (shelving/organization, labeling updates)
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Proof of personal auto insurance (required for delivery use)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures/work instructions
- Comfortable with computers/technology (PDFs/links/scanning and using the HDA system)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs; standing/walking and repetitive kitting work
- Warehouse/fulfillment experience preferred, but not required — we will train the right candidate

- Accurate kits built to checklist/spec with minimal rework
- Reliable on-time weekly deliveries within the delivery block
- Accurate cycle counts and organized locations
- Clear communication of issues/blockers (no guessing)
