Food and Beverage Manager

Hardscrabble Country Club
Fort Smith, AR Full Time
POSTED ON 9/24/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/23/2026

Hardscrabble Country Club is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead our front-of-house dining operations and help deliver the exceptional level of hospitality our members expect.

This is more than a restaurant management position. We are looking for a hospitality professional who understands that exceptional service is built on relationships, attention to detail, consistency, and anticipating a member's needs before being asked.

The Food & Beverage Manager will be highly visible throughout the Club, working alongside the service team, developing employees, building relationships with members, and continually raising our standards of service.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means more than keeping the dining operation running.

The Food & Beverage Manager sets the standard for elevated hospitality: noticing what a member needs before being asked, remembering preferences, recognizing when service or presentation falls short, and coaching the team in the moment.

Most importantly, this leader creates a culture where every detail matters, employees are supported and developed, and every member feels recognized, valued, and genuinely cared for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily member dining and front-of-house operations while maintaining high standards for service, presentation, cleanliness, and member satisfaction.
  • Maintain a visible presence in dining areas, welcome members and guests, learn member preferences, and build genuine relationships while maintaining appropriate professionalism.
  • Create a culture of anticipatory, high-touch hospitality in which team members notice needs, respond promptly, and make each interaction feel personal and effortless.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, motivate, and develop the front-of-house service team.
  • Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for polished, attentive, and professional service.
  • Establish and reinforce standards for professionalism, appearance, communication, timing, table presentation, and attention to detail.
  • Identify potential service issues before they affect the member experience and resolve concerns promptly, graciously, and professionally.
  • Support private functions, tournaments, holiday celebrations, member events, and other Club programming.
  • Monitor staffing levels, schedules, labor, service procedures, supplies, and other operational needs within the scope of the position.
  • Lead by example and step in wherever needed to ensure members and guests receive exceptional service.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous management experience in an upscale or high-end hospitality environment is required.
  • Experience in luxury restaurants, hotels, casinos, resorts, country clubs, or other high-touch hospitality environments is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold service teams accountable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to recognize the small elements that elevate a member's experience.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain composed, gracious, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, team development, and creating memorable experiences.
  • Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, major events, and other peak Club periods.

Schedule & Quality of Life

Typical Workweek: On average, a five-day workweek structured around the needs of the Club and membership.

Peak Periods: Additional days or extended hours may occasionally be necessary during major tournaments, member events, holidays, and other high-volume Club activities.

Time Off: Our management team works together to provide appropriate time off following especially demanding event periods.

Paid Leave: Paid vacation and PTO are provided in accordance with Club policy.

Compensation & Benefits

Hardscrabble Country Club offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to attract and retain a strong hospitality professional.

Benefits and opportunities include:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Performance and compensation reviews
  • Health insurance benefits
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
