Hardin's Chapel Church – Greeneville, Tennessee
Hardin's Chapel Church, founded in 1800, is an independent Methodist Christian church with a rich heritage of faith, worship, and Gospel ministry. Our mission is to love God, love people, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our community and beyond.
We are prayerfully seeking a Part-Time Pastor who will faithfully shepherd the congregation through biblical preaching, pastoral care, discipleship, and community outreach while helping lead the church into its next season of ministry.
Pastoral Responsibilities
The pastor will be expected to:
- Preach biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons during weekly worship services
- Lead worship services, prayer gatherings, and special church events
- Administer the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion
- Provide pastoral care through visitation, encouragement, counseling, and prayer
- Conduct weddings, funerals, and other ministerial services as needed
- Shepherd the congregation with humility, compassion, and spiritual maturity
- Assist with administrative responsibilities, including membership records, attendance tracking, and leadership meetings
- Work alongside church leadership and ministry volunteers in planning and church coordination
- Encourage evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach within the local area
- Help develop and strengthen children's and youth ministry opportunities
- Promote healthy church growth through biblical teaching, discipleship, and relationship-building
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Demonstrate a clear faith in Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry
- Be committed to biblical preaching, teaching, and sound Christian doctrine
- Possess a shepherd's heart and genuine love for people
- Work well with church leadership and volunteers
- Have strong communication and leadership skills
- Previous pastoral or ministry experience is preferred
- Some formal theological education is preferred
- A Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree is preferred, but not required
- Candidates with Bible college training, seminary coursework, ministerial credentials, or significant ministry experience are encouraged to apply
Denominational Affiliation
Hardin's Chapel Church is affiliated with the Association of Independent Methodists (AIM). Candidates should be willing to participate in additional interviews, complete a background check, and pursue the appropriate ministerial approval and ordination process through AIM.
Position Details
