What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at HARDINGS INC?
We are looking for a Staff Accountant ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us take Hardings Inc to the next level. Accounting Clerk duties will be expected from the Staff Accountant until they can pass them along to the Accounting Associate. The Staff Accountant will oversee our Accounting Associate & Human Resource Manager, including performing month-end close procedures; reviewing the work of others; preparing and/or reviewing audit and review engagement requests; and helping obtain information and requests from other team members and departments as needed. The Staff Accountant position offers the opportunity to grow into the Controller's role.
Staff Accounting Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, interims, financial statements, and other financial reports according to GAAP
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures
- Take control of the chart of accounts including GL account mapping & internal control implementations
- Maintain all corporate accouting records
- Staying on top of the bookkeeping ensuring all deductions & expenses are accurately recorded
- Assists with gathering information for audits by regulators and external auditors as needed
- Search for opportunities to streamline current processes and identify controls that could be implemented
- Main point of contact of all banking relationships which include dealer wholesale floorplan financing
- Key liason with the company's external accounting firm & advisers
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily bank deposits, bank entries, wire transfers & monthly reconciliations
- Monitor all tax obligations and prioritze these mandatory payments to be met on time
- Overseeing the accuracy of Accounts Receivables & Accounts Payables and any other department as needed
- Overseeing employee payroll, benefits, union & insurance matters as needed
- Handling all DOT issues including IFTA, MFT, IRP and other IN Dealer Service matters
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
- Strong understanding of related tax laws
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines that may overlap one another and effectively prioritze tasks with a calm & level head
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
