Role Description
The Assistant Athletic Trainer (Exempt) will provide comprehensive healthcare services to student-athletes, including injury prevention, rehabilitation, and recovery support. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing athletic injuries, developing and implementing injury rehabilitation programs, and assisting with strength and conditioning protocols. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will collaborate with other staff to ensure the holistic well-being of student-athletes and maintain compliance with regulations for athletic safety. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abilene, TX.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Injury Prevention and Prevention strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes
- Expertise in Athletic Training, including evaluation and management of injuries
- Experience with Strength & Conditioning programs designed to enhance athletic performance
- Knowledge and application of Rehabilitation techniques for recovery and performance optimization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, coaches, and team staff
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Health Science, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers and current Texas licensure (or eligibility) required
- CPR/AED certification required
- Previous experience working with collegiate athletes is highly desirable
