Hardin Optical is looking for hands-on, mechanically inclined individuals to join our manufacturing team as Entry-Level Technicians in Precision Diamond Turning.
No direct experience is required — if you have the aptitude and the drive, we will train you.

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, learning technical processes, and working in a structured manufacturing environment. While experience is not required, strong transferable skills are highly preferred, such as:

  • Mechanical aptitude (automotive, machining, electronics, assembly, etc.)
  • Mathematical aptitude (basic algebra, measurement, tolerances)
  • Craft or hobby work requiring precision (3D printing, woodworking, model building, metalworking, etc.)
  • Ability to stay focused, follow detailed processes, and work with accuracy
  • Demonstrated history of punctuality, strong professional dependability, and accountability in previous roles (preferred)

Position Overview

These full-time positions are swing shift roles that begin with a paid day-shift training program. This is a long-term career opportunity in a high-tech manufacturing environment where you will gain skills that are in demand across the optics and precision machining industries.

What You’ll Learn

We provide full training and hands-on experience in:

  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining precision production processes
  • Reading, interpreting, and using metrology and measurement equipment
  • Following highly detailed procedures and contributing to documentation
  • Recording data accurately in lab notebooks and production records
  • Performing mechanical assembly, disassembly, and cleaning
  • Inspecting components and ensuring they meet tight specifications
  • Making routine mechanical and electronic machine adjustments
  • Understanding optical tolerances and manufacturing requirements

Training & Pay

Day Shift Training (3–6 months):

  • Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • $20/hour

Swing Shift (after training):

  • Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–12:30 AM
  • $23/hour (includes $3 shift differential)
