Duties
- Install, assemble, and modify sheet metal ductwork and HVAC systems according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment including boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and building automation systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and conduct electrical diagnostics to resolve system faults efficiently.
- Repair and service HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building plans to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting to identify mechanical or electrical failures and implement effective repair solutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system issues, repairs needed, and maintenance recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and installation.
- Service technician experience working with HVAC systems, refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, or property maintenance.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, and building automation systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment including boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and related mechanical components.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow detailed instructions for system installation or repair projects.
- Experience with electrical systems diagnostics and repairs related to HVAC/R equipment.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical or plumbing work are a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a company van or truck safely on job sites.
- Willingness to work in various environments including confined spaces or elevated locations; physical ability to lift heavy equipment as needed.
