What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tourist Development Coordinator position at Hardee County Board of County Commissioners?
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for implementation of the County Plan for tourist development, as recommended by the TDC and authorized by the BOCC, and the performance of related administrative and promotional functions. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks, Recreation and Marketing Manager.
Duties:
· Increase awareness of Hardee County as a vacation destination in all domestic and other markets.
·Coordinate efforts with Visit Florida, Destinations Florida and other destination marketing organizations and Tourist Development Councils within the state to provide a cohesive state- wide effort to promote tourism.
·Schedule and prepare agenda, previous meeting minutes, and financial update information for Tourist Development Council Advisory Board meetings. Prepare agenda items when needed for Board of County Commission approval. Attend all meetings of the Tourist Development Council and other designated committees in an advisory, non-voting capacity.
·Assist with social media and direct mail campaigns.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; five (5) years work experience involving experience in public/private information, public media, public relations techniques, resources, and methods. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
