Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Gary, IN. As a Sous Chef at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Your tasks will include supervising kitchen staff, planning and preparing menus, ensuring food quality and safety, managing inventory, and adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards. Additionally, you will play a key role in training and mentoring kitchen personnel and maintaining a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in culinary arts and kitchen management
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge
- Menu planning and creative recipe development skills
- Inventory management and cost control skills
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Prior experience in a high-volume kitchen or similar environment is a plus
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
