Nurse Manager - Operating Room

Harborview Medical Center, Washington State's only Level I adult and pediatric trauma center, is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to join our leadership team.

Position Highlights

• Key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring the highest standards of patient care
• Instrumental in managing performance metrics and key performance indicators including OR utilization, efficiency, timeliness, and turnover times
• Direct oversight of an Assistant Nurse Manager team that delivers frontline support for surgical service lines, daily operations, and charge nurse functions

• 100% Day Shift

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate unit programs to meet patient care needs and quality standards
• Drive and monitor OR performance metrics including utilization, efficiency, timeliness, and turnover times
• Provide direct oversight of the Assistant Nurse Manager group supporting service lines, operations, and charge nurse functions
• Select, hire, develop, and supervise unit staff
• Plan and manage the unit budget effectively
• Provide leadership to promote professional nursing practice and staff development
• Participate in decision-making processes and contribute to the development of policies and programs
• Coordinate interdepartmental efforts to maintain a safe patient care environment

Requirements

• Current or ability to obtain Washington State RN license (or multistate license)
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher
• Five or more years of professional operating room nursing experience
• Two or more years in a management, supervisory, or lead role (Assistant Nurse Manager experience preferred)
• Experience may be used to substitute for required education
