Responsibilities
- Supervise daily farm activities including planting, harvesting, animal husbandry, and equipment operation
- Oversee the care and handling of various animals, ensuring their health and well-being
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, irrigation systems, and greenhouses
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities; perform repairs using hand tools, welding, or power tools as needed
- Manage inventory of supplies, feed, tools, and maintenance parts
- Train team members on safe equipment operation and animal handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and farm regulations at all times
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in an agricultural or farm setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance
- Extensive animal husbandry skills across different species; equine experience preferred
- Familiarity with farm machinery including forklifts, heavy equipment operation, irrigation systems, and greenhouse management
- Knowledge of horticulture practices and growing techniques for crops or plants
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Basic math skills for measuring inputs, calculating feed rations, or managing inventories
- Previous experience working with farm animals requiring specialized handling skills
- Understanding of sustainable farming practices and crop cultivation methods
