POSITION SUMMARY
The primary focus for this position is to provide administrative and operational support to the HR department, helping to ensure smooth and efficient HR functions across the credit union. The HR Assistant is responsible for managing HR systems, assisting with benefits and payroll administration, coordinating staff conference and training, and supporting the development of internal procedures and training resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

- Meet service standards and expectations.

- Promote credit union products and services.
- Respond Promptly and courteously to member and staff inquiries.
- Keep work area clean and sensitive material properly secured.
- Complete assigned training in a timely manner as required for compliance with regulations.
- Maintain employee records, HRIS systems, and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with employee benefits enrollment, changes, and communications, support open enrollment and vendor coordination.
- Schedule and manage staff conferences, training sessions, and employee engagement activities.
- Serve as a backup for payroll processing and administration.
- Collaborate with department leaders to create and distribute training materials while tracking completion and feedback.
- Assist in drafting and updating HR policies and procedures.
- Perform general HR administrative tasks include filing, reporting, correspondence, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
- Partner with HR Manager and other departments to support and complete onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Perform additional HR-related tasks as assigned on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis.
- Stay up to date on credit union policy and procedures. Adhere to regulations.

Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
- Specialized HR or related certification preferred.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 1-3 years customer service experience.
- 2 years of experience in HR or administrative support.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and benefits administration preferred.
- Experience creating training and development resources.
- Knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and philosophy preferred.

PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position, working 40 hours per week on average. A typical schedule for the HR Assistant is Monday-Friday. The HR Assistant operates in a professional office environment regularly where travel to offsite meeting locations, conferences, and events may be required but is rare. This position requires approximately 7 plus hours of stationary daily computer and phone use and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 20 pounds including supplies, equipment, ect. Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, reaching above or below shoulder level, and kneeling is required.
