What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tekla Software Administrator position at HarborFab?
General Purpose of the Position:
The Tekla Software Administrator is responsible for the overall daily maintenance of the software. They will also handle application specific issues and updates while troubleshooting existing processes. The Tekla Software Administrator will implement and administer Tekla configurations, drive innovation and digital transformation across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure upkeep of the Harbor manpower schedule
- Import in Tekla all drawings, CNC, KSS, BOMs, Ship mark list, etc. (complete package from the detailer)
- Lead Tekla introduction during onboarding
- Ensure standard steel shapes and pricing are kept current in Tekla.
- Create customized Tekla reports as needed for Dir of Fab, Plant Mgrs., PMs, estimators.
- Assist/facilitate in Tekla EPM go full roll out, and time studies for customizing Tekla for improved estimating and scheduling/backlog tracking.
- Assist with Tekla implementation and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any Tekla reported problems.
- Assist with developing and coaching of Tekla training.
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes and methodologies.
- Plan and coordinate testing changes, upgrades, and new services ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments.
- Launch of structured Tekla Playbook v1.0 across all Harbor Sites.
- Build templates, plugins, and macros to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual data entry.
- Enable real-time data flow between estimating, detailing, fabrication, and shipping functions.
- Conduct user competency assessments and certification programs.
- Support TAKT time analysis, backlog reporting, and labor hour forecasting through Tekla EPM.
- Build automated performance dashboards (e.g., MH/ton or LF/ton, On-Time Ship %, shop throughput by line, backlog burn-down).

Travel: 10%, occasionally visiting Harbor Fab shops in Winnsboro, Texas, Cleburne, Texas, Baxley Georgia and Benton, Arkansas, or any future shops
