**This is a SECOND SHIFT position**
Purpose:
As a Fitter you will be responsible for assembling and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
- Weld steel members.
- Move steel members into positions, manually or with hoists or cranes.
- Position, align, fit, and track weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
- Determine appropriate method and sequence of tasks in order to fabricate items in the most efficient way possible.
- Coaching and training of lower-level fitters to help them advance in their skill sets.
- Assisting foreman and managers maintain consistent workflow and production on shop floor to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Ensure all peers are following all safety policies.
- Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify defects, ensuring that the finished product meets quality standards.
