Lavender Farm Customer Experience & Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our retail team at our beautiful Old Mission Peninsula (Traverse City) lavender farm where we grow over six acres of lavender and produce about 50 all-natural products, including cherry products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation and a passion for helping customers find the right products to meet their needs and enjoy their visit to our farm. Candidates must be able to engage customers in conversation about what we do and what they are looking for. Our Sales Associates play a key role in driving sales and ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. Candidates must be able to work into the fall or year-round, even if part time.

Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, telling them about our farm and encouraging them to experience it, answering questions, and assisting with product selection.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper money handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by restocking merchandise, managing inventory levels, and ensuring product displays are well-maintained.
• Educate customers about features and benefits, enhancing their shopping experience.
• Utilize basic math skills to process transactions and manage inventory effectively.
• Communicate effectively with other staff, management, and customers, fostering a positive working and shopping environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail or sales is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele. You must enjoy talking to people.
• Basic math skills required for cash handling and inventory management.
• Ability to stock merchandise efficiently while maintaining organization on the sales floor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to learn about products and services offered in order to provide knowledgeable assistance to customers.
• Must be dependable.
• May also be asked to work at our downtown Traverse City store.
