Harbor Talent Group is seeking an Accountant to join Landing Point Financial Group, located in Avon, Ohio. The Accountant position is an instrumental role as an employee of Landing Point Financial Group,
supporting the smooth operation of a fast-paced and client-focused practice.
The Accountant works under the direction of Accounting leadership and is responsible for delivering
accurate bookkeeping, preparing financial statements and tax returns, researching tax questions, and
providing clients with responsive and professional support. In addition, the Accountant is responsible for
responding to ad hoc requests, coordinating/tracking projects, and managing business-as-usual projects
such as mailings, filing, copying, and/or organizing the logistics of processes.This position consistently follows high standards of business and professional ethics as well as legal and
regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate client bookkeeping records and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Calculate taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with ad hoc client requests and provide responsive, professional client service.
- Support financial operations, identifying risks and recommending process improvements.
- Organize and track accounting projects, client files, and required documentation.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and client questions.
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements, quality standards, and efficiency initiatives.
- Perform general accounting support tasks such as mailings, filing, and preparation of client correspondence.
- Perform payroll tasks as necessary.
- Act as a backup to other accounting staff as needed.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- BS in Accounting, Finance or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Experience in bookkeeping with strong accounting skills.
- CPA certification is beneficial but not required.
- Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with UltraTax, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software.
