Job DescriptionCDL Equipment Transport DriverPosition Summary
Harbor Septic is seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL Equipment Transport Driver to support our septic installation operations. This position is responsible for transporting construction equipment to and from job sites using a truck and trailer, as well as transporting and operating a trailer-mounted water tank to fill newly installed septic tanks and system components.
The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, organized, enjoys working outdoors, and is committed to supporting field crews by ensuring equipment and water are delivered safely and on time.
Essential ResponsibilitiesEquipment Transportation
· Safely transport excavators, skid steers, compact equipment, and other construction equipment using a truck and equipment trailer.
· Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
· Report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
Water Tank Operations
· Transport a trailer-mounted water tank to active septic installation projects.
· Fill newly installed septic tanks, pump chambers, and other system components as directed by the installation crew.
· Safely operate pumps, hoses, valves, and related equipment.
· Coordinate with field personnel to ensure installations remain on schedule.
Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance
· Maintain trucks, trailers, and water tank equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
· Complete daily inspections and maintenance reports.
· Fuel vehicles and equipment.
· Ensure all required safety equipment is present and operational.
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
· Secure all equipment and loads properly before transport.
· Wear required PPE while on job sites.
· Maintain a clean driving record and operate all equipment safely.
Team Support
· Assist installation crews with general job site duties when transportation tasks are complete.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and field personnel.
· Represent Harbor Septic professionally with customers and the public.
Qualifications Required
· Valid Class A CDL
· Current DOT Medical Card.
· Clean driving record.
· Experience towing gooseneck trailers and moving equipment.
· Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and medium-duty trucks with trailers.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred
· Experience transporting construction equipment.
· Construction or utility industry experience.
· Familiarity with septic installation operations.
· Experience operating excavators or skid steers.
Physical Requirements
· Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Frequently climb in and out of trucks and trailers.
· Lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
· Walk, bend, kneel, and stand throughout the workday.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
