What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aide position at Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center?
Job Duties:
- Provide developmentally appropriate instruction to residents.
- Leading, organizing, and scheduling intramural sporting events for residents.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, therapeutic environment for staff and residents.
- Willing to work flexible hours to accomodate for daily scheduled residential events.
- Have an understanding of psychological needs of residents and basic awareness of psychological needs of residential environment.
- Display a high degree of professionalism in all activities and interactions with students, staff, parents, agency personnel, and community members.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must possess knowledge of and ability to implement behavioral management strategies and de-excalation techniques; good written and verbal communication skillls and good interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
- Previous experience working in a residential or psychiatric setting with children and adolescents preferred.
- Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
