Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges.
Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.

Essential Functions
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

- Contributes to formulation,
and revision of the resident individual treatment plan.Â
Essential Functions
- Implements program to help residents learn acceptable behaviors.
- Supervises residents attainment of treatment goals.
- Maintains positive normative culture.
- Utilizes establisthed mechanisms to enhance communication.
- Assist in staffing needs of the facility.
- Adheres to all supervision and accountability of unit staff.
- Assist with the supervision and accountability of unit staff.
- Ensures the coordination and completion of all documentation related to resident care.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- HWC, CPR and First Aid Required
- High school education required.
- Bachelor's minimum or a certificate from a trade school in nursing would be more appropriate with the need to have familiarity with medical terminology
- Secretarial or clerical training in a hospital setting preferred.

General Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services.
- Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
- Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning.
- Requires secretarial skills, organizational ability and verbal communicative skills; some knowledge of medical terminology.
