- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in clinical research and data collection efforts to improve treatment outcomes and support evidence-based practices.
- Valid state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent certification with demonstrated experience in clinical counseling.
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, individuals with PTSD or chronic pain conditions, and those requiring special education or inpatient care.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and patient assessment.
- Telehealth experience is highly preferred for remote service delivery.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation standards related to behavioral health services.
- Ability to work effectively within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
