What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Electrician position at Harbor Marine Electric LLC?
Marine Electrical Technician:
We are looking for marine technicians that have broad experience in the marine industry with a focus and interest in electrical and/or electronics systems. ABYC and/or NMEA certifications are a plus. Our work involves AC and DC systems, generators (both diesel engine and electrical backend; troubleshooting, repair, and new installations), electronics (primarily Simrad and B&G), lithium battery systems, etc.
Prerequisites:
- ABYC Marine Electrical Certification and/or NMEA certifications preferred
- Knowledge of electrical principles, marine electronics, and marine electrical systems and components
- Broad experience in the marine industry
- Past professional experience as a marine electrical technician ideal
Responsibilities:
- Installation of batteries, inverters, chargers, isolation transformers, generators, etc.
- Troubleshooting and repair of AC and DC circuits
- Installation of marine electronics (i.e. radar, MFD, VHF/AIS, autopilot, etc.)
- General maintenance and upkeep of tools, equipment, and service vehicle
Pay starting at $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Professional development via ABYC and NMEA programs available at company's expense for applicants with appropriate experience but lacking certifications.
