ROLE OVERVIEW

Harbor Light is looking for a Social Media Coordinator based in Southern California to help manage and grow the company's digital presence across social media platforms. This role will support content creation, scheduling, community engagement, performance tracking, and overall social media strategy. You will work directly with leadership, creative partners, and external collaborators to ensure our brand, projects, and initiatives are represented consistently and effectively online.

We are looking for a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented individual who understands how to develop and execute social media strategies that strengthen our brand and engage audiences. The ideal candidate has experience creating compelling digital content, including graphic design, and is proficient in video editing. They are passionate about storytelling, digital marketing, and audience growth, stay ahead of platform trends, and are comfortable supporting productions by capturing behind-the-scenes content and real-time social media coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day social media operations across platforms including Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube 
  • Establish and optimize new social media accounts as needed, ensuring consistent branding, profile setup, platform optimization, and integration with the company's overall digital strategy.
  • Create, schedule, and publish content aligned with company initiatives, projects, and announcements
  • Assist in developing and executing social media strategies that support company growth and brand awareness
  • Coordinate content calendars and ensure timely delivery of social media assets
  • Collaborate with leadership, creative partners, and external vendors to gather content and develop campaigns
  • Write engaging social media copy tailored to platform-specific audiences
  • Monitor social media channels and engage with followers, partners, and community members as appropriate
  • Track platform performance, engagement metrics, and audience growth
  • Prepare regular reports highlighting key performance indicators and campaign results
  • Research industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to identify new opportunities
  • Assist with event coverage, live posting, and promotional campaigns when applicable
  • Organize and maintain social media assets, content libraries, and brand materials
  • Support broader marketing, branding, and communications initiatives as needed
  • Prepare and deliver reports directly to the CEO
  • Design graphics and visual assets for social media using platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Capture and edit behind-the-scenes (BTS) photo and video content on set during productions, events, and company initiatives to support real-time and post-production social media content.

DIGITAL MARKETING & CONTENT SCOPE

This role is expected to support the company's digital presence across the full content lifecycle, which may include:

  • Performance tracking and analytics reporting
  • Brand awareness initiatives

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, content marketing, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current platform trends
  • Experience creating and managing content calendars
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and performance reporting
  • Experience supporting brand growth and audience engagement initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and strong communication skills

TOOLS & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, Buffer, or equivalent
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content creation tools
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and platform analytics tools
  • Proficiency in project management platforms such as Notion, Asana, ClickUp, Monday, or equivalent
  • Strong command of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing, paid social campaigns, and audience targeting strategies

Salary : $51,000 - $57,000
