Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport goods safely within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, cycle counts, and updating warehouse management systems (WMS) like AS400 or RF scanners.
- Assist with order fulfillment by picking, packing, and preparing shipments using order picker tools and packaging materials.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against shipping documents and ensuring proper documentation.
- Handle materials with care during stocking, heavy lifting, and materials handling tasks to prevent damage or injury.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by adhering to OSHA safety standards and mechanical knowledge requirements.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse distribution processes and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers; previous warehouse supervisor experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems such as AS400 or similar WMS platforms; experience with RF scanners is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers; certification preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and maintenance; familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and order picking processes.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with experience in manufacturing or construction environments is advantageous.
