Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise the crews in a safe & productive manner
- Perform installation of pipe, fittings, valves, and manholes for Water and Storm Drainage
- Shoot existing grade and contour land to match the plans.
- Responsible for installing and managing mechanical projects on-site
- Work independently on routine projects with limited supervision
- Oversee, supervise, and ensure the proper completion of work when performed and assisted by assigned helpers
- Install, diagnose and repair/replace pipe, fitting, and components for piping systems both above and below grade.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role by enrolling or participating in meetings, workshops, training and seminars
- Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, and punctuality
- Minimum 4 years experience as a grading foreman
- Ability to read and understand Civil drawings
- Ability to shoot grades
- Experience operating various construction equipment
- Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- 4 years of grading and installing stormwater and water pipe.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to customer facilities through background checks and successful safety training testing
- Experience in maintaining job site documentation, i.e. time sheets, As-Built drawings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities
- Hand tool, power tool, and pipe fitting experience
- Ability to operate Heavy equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements
- Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to forty pounds
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to forty feet, working in ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work alternative shifts or weekends and to travel upon request to meet customer installation schedule.
