HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Shipping Team as a Shipping Coordinator II.
Summary
The Shipping Coordinator II supports the shipping department by performing a variety of administrative activities required for HarbisonWalker International to ship orders and meet customer delivery requirements. This role is responsible for scheduling carrier pickup and routing, maintaining shipping files and monitoring accuracy of inventory including lot codes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating orders from the point of transport arrangement until final documentation and arrival at the customer to ensure in time delivery
- Accomplishing all shipping related administrative activities including coordinating shipments with approved third-party logistic companies, creating requirement paperwork for loads shipping, and verifying each load; facilitating the flow of information between Supply Chain and the Customer Account Specialist to coordinate shipping priorities and ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Ensuring the accuracy of plant blue print files, shipping department files, and shipment tracking
- Preparing export order paperwork Serving as point of contact to research missed shipments, OS shipments, and NP line charges; reconciling inventory variances; coordinating warehouse cycle counts
Requirements
- Requires High School diploma
- BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
- Requires computer operation skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle ERP accounting system
- Requires experience in working towards Lean production
- Requires experience in inventory management planning performance metrics: raw material and finished goods inventory levels, customer service levels, cycle count accuracy, on-time delivery, day’s on hand, physical inventory and delivery sales targets
- Requires interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Requires excellent organization skills with accurate and precise attention to detail The Shipping Coordinator requires two (2) – four (4) years of inventory and shipping experience, preferably in a refractory operation.
