Summary:
The Manager, Total Rewards is a highly specialized and important position accountable for contributing to HWI’s overall business performance through the development and execution of the company’s total rewards strategy by evaluating, designing, implementing, and administering the company’s compensation, health and welfare, retirement and work-life programs to attract, motivate and retain talent through competitive and cost-effective programs, managing data, providing strategic advice and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations to leadership and oversight of vendor relationships. This role will act as a liaison between the Global Compensation and Benefits Director and the Regional Americas HR teams, facilitating alignment and responsiveness across countries.
Responsibilities:
- Managing daily operations and administration of HarbisonWalker International's health, wellness, and retirement benefits program(s), including all policies and procedures related to or affected by benefits programs; managing vendor, consultant, and carrier relationships, ensuring these partners meet performance expectations; evaluating and negotiating contracts, ensuring best value for cost. Leverage data analytics to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Administer pay systems, policies, and procedures that are competitive, including the development of salary structures, implementation of salary planning/administration programs, market data analysis, and creation/revision of local incentive programs, ensuring alignment of incentive/reward elements with culture, strategy, and operational objectives. Develop and deliver communication strategies to educate employees on total rewards offerings, ensuring transparency and engagement.
- Implement and adapt total rewards programs to meet local market conditions, legal requirements, and cultural expectations. Manage regional vendor relationships, including negotiation and performance oversight of local benefits providers. Serve as a strategic partner to regional HR teams, ensuring local relevance of compensation, international/national mobility, and wellness programs. Monitor regional trends and regulatory changes, advising corporate leadership on necessary adjustments. Analyze utilization, engagement, and ROI of total rewards programs; make recommendations for improvements.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to structure competitive job offer packages, including sign-on bonuses, relocation support, vehicle allowances, and other non-salary incentives
- Accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker International's overall business performance through the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization’s health, wellness, and retirement benefits program(s). Responsible for overseeing benefits strategy and execution of programs to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, competitiveness with other organizations, and alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Overseeing administration of all federal and state-specific leave of absence and workers' compensation claims and claims settlements; working with third-party administrators/brokers/legal counsel regarding ongoing leave of absence and workers' compensation claims to ensure timely resolution and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Developing annual benefits and compensation budget, reviewing and approving invoices, identifying and resolving budget variances, and collaborating with Finance to manage compensation and costs within budget. Assist the Americas team with SGA budget planning and processing.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent
- MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resources Management preferred
- The Manager, Total Rewards requires ten plus (10 ) years of progressive HR operational experience or has started as a Total Rewards Analyst.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including presentation planning and delivery skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including people development/coaching, objective setting, and measurement skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with functional and technical groups to identify improvements in HR processes, scope requirements, and impacts related to system and/or process changes
- Demonstrated expertise regarding HCM enhancements in data integrity and streamlining of current system structures and processes
- Demonstrated compensation technical knowledge (base and variable)
- Strong desire to be held accountable for results
- Excellent collaboration and coaching skills
