What are the responsibilities and job description for the Back Office Tech Trainee - Cartersville Family Medicine position at Harbin Clinic?
A Back Office Tech has several duties and responsibilities that they learn through studies and experience. They work under the supervision of a licensed nurse (RN/LPN) or a Certified Medical Assistant on the front line of patient care. A Back Office Tech will provide basic care for patients helping the nurse that is working directly with a Medical Doctor in the office setting. This trainee program consists of 8 weeks of training that is a combination of classroom and clinic training.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Measure vital signs like height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and heart rate
- Have the patient prepped and ready in the exam room
- Document current medications, medical or surgical history and primary care physician information for nurse to have during the noting process
- Listen to patient regarding any health concerns they might have and report details to a Registered Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant
- Clean rooms between patients
- Collect urine samples
- Assist with set up for sterile procedures
- Package dirty surgical utensils used in procedures to be cleaned
- Prepare a patient for an EKG test
- Stock supplies in supply room and patient exam rooms
- Help answer the call light if provider needs assistance
- Review and prepare paperwork needing a Medical Doctors approval and signature
- Review mail
- Transport patients as needed
