Role Overview
The Lean Engineering Leader is responsible for driving Lean Six Sigma initiatives at a large-scale chemical manufacturing site in Indianapolis. This role will lead the implementation of Lean principles across the plant, partnering with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. The position plays a key role in shaping site culture by training, coaching, and mentoring employees at all levels while embedding sustainable continuous improvement practices aligned with business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead site-wide Lean Six Sigma initiatives, aligning continuous improvement efforts with operational and business goals
- Develop and execute Lean strategies, including value stream mapping and waste reduction initiatives across manufacturing and support functions
- Coach, train, and mentor employees and leadership on Lean principles, tools, and best practices
- Drive process improvement projects focused on quality, cost reduction, efficiency, and throughput
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to solve complex operational challenges using data-driven methodologies
- Establish and track key performance metrics (e.g., cost savings, inventory, labor efficiency) and report progress to leadership
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability across the site
- Support change management efforts to ensure successful adoption and sustainability of Lean initiatives
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
- 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing or operations within a regulated or process-driven environment (chemical manufacturing preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience leading process improvement or Lean initiatives.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification required (Black Belt preferred).
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
