Tier 1 Auto Supplier seeks a Quality Manager, responsible for leading and overseeing the activities of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Teams; along with coordinating company audit activities – IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and J-SOX.

Quality Management:

· Lead and oversee activities of the Quality Assurance and Quality Inspection departments.

· Provide technical, managerial guidance and development to the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) departmental personnel, in the carrying out of their respective area functions, to meet all company and customer quality requirements. Includes, but is not limited to customer relationships, PPAP submissions, control of non-conforming product, warranty activities, and overseeing the QC Assistant Manager on facility maintenance activities.

· Communicate and work effectively with other departments and customers/suppliers in the area of quality. Work closely with all Harada Groups personnel on production quality, suppliers, processes, materials and related training, problem resolution and risk avoidance activities.

Quality Improvements:

· Oversee company coordination of industry quality management systems "QMS" (i.e. IATF 16949, Q1, ISO 14001), including serving as Lead Auditor / conducting layered audits.

· Develop and facilitate the implementation of effective and efficient preventive and corrective actions within our QMS, including analysis of related business processes to achieve continual improvement objectives.

· Collaborate with cross-functional personnel (i.e. Quality Circle) in the development of the Quality Improvement Plan ("QIP") - for executive management approval, including added-value Metrics / KPI reporting, preparatory and objective achievement activities - in supportive coordination with the Company's Lean Steering Council and QMS Management Representative.

· Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Inspection departments, providing direction, guidance and development so that departmental employees can effectively complete their assignments and consistently meet customer, company and departmental objectives (i.e. APQP, PPAP, Warranty). Serve as back-up to team members as deemed necessary and appropriate.

· Responsible for leading effort to ensure quality concerns are effectively and efficiently addressed and resolved. Confers with customers and/or suppliers; as well as other internal and external contacts, to remedy Customer Complaints or Quality Concerns. Includes coordination of associated sorting and reworking plans; as well as inspection and control of non-conforming product practices and procedures. Periodically reviews PPAP and other documents submitted to customers.

· Oversee company coordination of industry quality management systems "QMS" (i.e. IATF 16949, Q1, ISO 14001), including serving as Lead Auditor / conducting layered audits on the overall QMS.

· Develop and facilitate the implementation of effective and efficient preventive and corrective actions within our QMS, including analysis of related business processes to achieve continual improvement objectives.

· Collaborate with other staff (i.e. Quality Circle) in the development of the Quality Improvement Plan ("QIP") for executive management approval, including added-value Metrics / KPI reporting, preparatory and objective achievement activities - in supportive coordination with the Lean Steering Council.

· Communicates and coordinates with Harada Groups and departments regarding Quality related initiatives and continual improvement activities. Work closely with HIX and other Harada Groups personnel on production quality, suppliers, processes, materials and related training, problem resolution and risk avoidance activities.

· Oversees coordination of the generation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as required - internally and externally; including maintenance of quality documents.

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the Director, including departmental budget controls and overseeing facility issues / maintenance with the QC Assistant Manager (i.e. grounds, HVAC).

Education, Experience, & Other Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Quality Engineering or equivalent preferred

· 12-15 years of Quality experience in the Automotive Industry – with some wire harness product experience preferred

· 5 to 7 years in a Quality Supervision/Leadership role

· 3 to 5 years of quality system auditing / coordinating experience.

· Project management experience strongly preferred

· Proficient experience and in-depth knowledge of PPAP and Problem Solving across multiple automotive OEMs and Tier 1’s

· Working knowledge and use of continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma

· IATF 16949/ISO 9001/ISO 14001 Internal Auditor Training preferred

· Advanced Quality Planning, MSA, PFMEA, Layered Process Audits

· Experience working with Supplier Quality and Supplier Development strongly preferred

· Experience with Quality measuring tools (gages, testing devices, etc.) preferred

· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to proficiently generate documentation and reports using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, etc.

· Must be pro-active, organized and have ability to multi-task

· Ability to speak Spanish and/or Japanese a plus

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
