Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Retail Operations Manager (Owner’s Representative) at our Pleasantville, NJ location. This is not a traditional management position — ownership is based out of state and on-site approximately once a month, which means the person in this role is the business on the ground. You will carry full operational authority over daily decisions, team leadership, vendor relationships, regulatory compliance, and the P&L. You open and close the book on everything — staffing, inventory, cash handling, customer experience, and facility upkeep. You make the call when something breaks, when a vendor underperforms, or when a compliance question comes up. You don’t wait for permission; you act, then report. Additional responsibilities include managing our POS platform (Dutchie), overseeing all NJ CRC compliance protocols, serving as the primary point of contact for municipal officials and inspectors, and owning the local reputation of the brand in the community. The role requires active engagement with both customers and team members to create a seamless and welcoming store experience. This is a role for someone who wants to build something, not just manage a shift.
Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 annually % Revenue Share after 120 days
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Retail Operations and Operations Management, preferably in cannabis or a comparably regulated retail environment
- Strong Analytical Skills with full P&L accountability — you know your margins, your labor cost, and where the waste is
- Proven expertise in Store Management with the ability to operate independently under minimal oversight
- Exceptional Customer Service skills to enhance the customer experience
- Working knowledge of NJ CRC regulations strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including comfort interfacing with municipal officials and neighboring businesses
- Proficiency in inventory management and seed-to-sale tracking systems is a plus
- Must be able to pass a NJ CRC background check
- Pleasantville locals and South Jersey candidates strongly encouraged
